Electrical Safety Council warns of risks of inadequate RCD protection
Every year in the UK about 70 people die and 1.2 million are injured in electrical accidents in the home. The Electrical Safety Council's "Plug into Safety" campaign was launched last summer to promote the use of Residual Circuit Breakers in UK homes. They also estimate that around 4,000 domestic fires could be prevented each year if RCD protection was fitted in every consumer unit.
