Benefits of Heat Pumps
At H & R SERVICES (OXFORD) LTD we recommend heat pumps to our customers for many reasons including:
Performance
- A heat pump can provide all of your heating and hot water requirements all year round down to temperatures of -20ºC.
- They can be used for heating and cooling, domestic hot water and swimming pools either in new builds or retrofitted to existing systems.
- Heat pumps use a freely-available and inexhaustible heat source and for every unit of electricity the heat pump uses, up to five units of heat energyare produced.
Savings
- If you changed your gas boiler for a heat pump you could reduce your energy consumption for heating by up to 50% and if you use a green energysupplier your carbon emissions will be zero a saving of approximately twotonnes of CO² a year.
Financial Incentives
- Heat pump installations are subject to a reduced VAT rate of 5%
- Heat Pumps earn Code for Sustainable Homes points and can increase the value of your home.
- Heat pumps require minimal maintenance and can be expected to provide reliable and environmentally-friendly heating for in excess of 20 years.
